Spanish Residency Applications & Nie´s Spain
NIE´s are required for everyone who is NOT a Spanish National
NIE´s are required for everyone who is applying for Residencia and has a property, land, business or car in Spain. This is the principal document / number you will be asked for in all shops if you ask for a receipt. (A factura)spanish NIE application

We can apply for your NIE in your country of residence where you are resident.

You do not need to be here in person or here in Spain when applying for NIE

Spain has put into place the new procedures as from the 6th July 2020 how to apply and obtain the new TIE (Tarjeta de Identificacion Extranjeros) residency card. By law, under the terms of the Withdrawal Agreement, European Union member countries must provide new Brexit residency cards for British Nationals. ( so if you stay here for more than 90 days consecutively, or 180 days in total a year ) Contact us and we will find the solution for you.

We can assist you obtain your New Spanish Residency Card TIE (Tarjeta de Identificacion Extranjeros)

When your application has proved “favourable”, we will arrange an appointmentSpanish Residency Applications Nie Spain at the National Police station that deals with immigration & residency applications. The TIE card will not be issued on the day of the appointment. Collection will be again in person ( approx 6 weeks after your first appointment) . Sorry nowadays appointments are required for nearly everything official in Spain.

For those British citizens already settled in Spain – with a residency card less than five years old – they can apply for the new residency card personally. The residency card that will be issued will have a duration of five years and after this period, it should be renewed.

If you are starting the residency process in Spain, bear in mind you will need proof of permanent address, registration on the census known as the padron, electric and water bills in your name(s) and also local bank accounts with living expenses going in, and if you are a pensioner proof your pension is paid direct into a Spanish bank.

You will alos need to prove your financial self-sufficiency by showing a certain amount of money: this varies from town to town. ( If you are a pensioner, you will need to show proof / evidence of a pension)

You do need to be in your actual place of residency. ie UK, USA, or a non EU Country, to start the process. (via the Spanish Consulate)
You cannot do it here in Spain, in person when applying for Spanish Residence. (exceptional circumstances may apply)
