Elche or Elx is a city located in the Spanish municipality located in the Province of Alicante in the Valencian Community. The city has a population of 230,822 inhabitants (INE 2010) making it the third most populated city in the Valencian Community the second in the province of Alicante the twentieth in population at national level and the fourth largest city excluding provincial capitals.
